Cultural Access is for Everyone
Gig Harbor, Washington
We're a growing community with a growing need to preserve our heritage, spark our arts, and protect our natural landscape. This initiative makes it easy and affordable for everyone in the Gig Harbor area to support and benefit from local organizations such as the Harbor History Museum, Harbor WildWatch, Gig Harbor BoatShop, Peninsula Hands on Art, the Narrows Music Society, and Peninsula Youth Orchestra.

A small investment with a BIG impact!
Cultural Access Gig Harbor is based on state legislation that allows cities and counties to impose a one tenth of one percent increase on local sales tax to help fund arts, culture, and science-based programming provided by local non-profits for a seven-year period.
Re-authorization is required by council or public vote.

WHAT YOUR DOLLARS WILL DO
For just a one tenth of one percent increase in city sales tax
(that means 9.1% would become 9.2% sales tax),
you and your family will have increased access to
free and expanded programming from top-notch local
non-profit organizations. This is still less than our neighboring cities
Port Orchard (9.3%) and Tacoma (10.3%).
